Tips To Avoid Sprains, Strains and Pains During Spring Break

Many of us are looking forward to a well deserved vacation with our families sometime over the next week for Spring Break.

And while Spring Break should be a relaxing time on the beach or in the mountains you don't want to ruin your time off before it ever even begins.

Check out these quick and simple reminders to avoid injury during your vacation:

1) Pack slowly - start 2 to 3 days in advance to protect your back and keep you from stooping/bending to much at one time.

2) Get help with reaching suitcases, totes, etc. that are high or heavy (numerous falls and fractures can be prevented with a little thought).

3) Avoid trying to pack everything in one big suitcase. It may roll but you will still lift it 8-10 times. Using smaller suitcases may require more trips to the car but the result will be fewer injuries.

4) Be sure to get up a few minutes earlier before walks, hikes, sightseeing or even laying out at the beach to get in some light stretching. 10-15 minutes of stretching can save you a lot of pain.

We hope all of you enjoy time with friends and family but remember that if you do happen to stir yourself up over Spring Break give us a call at 601-932-0305 so we can help you get relief from your pain.
